Amrit Brikshya Andolan: Plant Trees and Receive Financial Grants

Amrit Brikshya Andolan is an innovative Android application developed by AMTRON that aims to promote tree plantation and conservation. This free app falls under the Lifestyle category and offers participants the opportunity to receive financial grants for their efforts in planting trees.

The program was officially announced by the Hon'ble Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on a significant date at the Chandubi Amrit Plantation. Its primary objective is to encourage the planting of 1 crore seedlings across the state, involving various groups such as Self Help Group Members, ASHA workers, supervisors, police, educational institutes, and Anganwadi workers for commercial tree planting.

To participate in this initiative, users are required to register on the dedicated web portal or mobile app. Once registered, participants can start planting seedlings and documenting their efforts by uploading an image of the planted seedling along with its geolocation and timestamp. As a reward for their contribution, participants will receive a financial grant of Rupees 100 as a Direct Beneficiary Transfer. Furthermore, if the planted tree survives, an additional grant of Rupees 200 will be given in the third year.

Seedlings will be distributed free of charge from pre-defined collection centers at the district/block level, ensuring easy access for participants. The program emphasizes the importance of geotagged photos to avail of the financial grant and expects participants to take responsibility for the care and nurturing of the planted trees.
